2. Upstream Downstream

The goal of this part of the course is to allow students to pursue scientific inquiry while exhibiting care for God, self, neighbor, and creation.

Upstream Downstream is a major project that includes Beginning the Project, Unfolding the Project, and Presentations and Debrief. It is an extended activity that begins with water testing, continues in coordinating with another school community, and culminates in presentations of students’ findings about water ecology to another group of students.

Within this are field days and lab days for the purposes of scientific testing and coordination with another school.
